Applying QoS or AQoS Policy Group to an Existing ONTAP Volume, LUN or File

 

Goal

This workflow applies the QoS or Adaptive QoS (AQoS) Policy Groups to an existing ONTAP volume, LUN, or file, and allows the user to switch between QoS or AQoS policy groups.

Prerequisites

·         You must be running WFA 4.2.

·         You must be running ONTAP 9.4 or later.

·         You must have added the credentials of all the storage systems to be used.

·         You must have created an ONTAP volume.

·         You must have created QoS and AQoS policy groups.

User Inputs

To execute this workflow, provide the required information in the following fields:

·         Storage Details

·         Policy Group Details

 

1.     Storage Details

·         Cluster* [Mandatory]: Select a cluster name from the drop-down menu.

 

·         Storage Virtual Machine*[Mandatory]: Select a virtual machine name from the drop-down menu. The drop-down lists the names of the Storage Virtual Machines associated with selected ONTAP cluster.

 

·         Select the workload: Beginning with ONTAP 9.4, LUN and file options are supported. If you select LUN as a workload, the LUN details section is enabled for the user to select from the drop-down list.

Similarly, if you select File as a workload, the file details section is enabled for the user to provide the input.

 

·         Volume Name*[Mandatory]: Select a volume name from the drop-down menu.

 

2.     Policy Group Details

You can provide the details for applying the policy group to an existing ONTAP volume, LUN, or file.

·         Type of Policy Group: Select the type of policy from the drop-down menu.

 

 

·         Policy Group Name: Select a policy group name from the drop-down menu.

 

Result

This workflow results in applying the QoS or AQoS Policy Groups to the existing ONTAP volume, LUN, or file.
