Resume SnapMirror workflow
The Resume SnapMirror workflow restarts (or unquiesces) the data transfers between source and destination volumes in SnapMirror or SnapVault relationships that have been quiesced.
· You must be running Data ONTAP 8.2 or later on the affected cluster.
· A SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship must exist between the source and destination volumes.
· The SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship must be in a quiesced state.
The Resume SnapMirror workflow is executed to resume data transfer between source and destination volumes in a SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship after that relationship has been quiesced, usually prior to a SnapMirror break operation.
1. Click Portal > Data Protection > Resume SnapMirror to display the Executive Workflow dialog box for the Resume SnapMirror workflow.
2. Specify the appropriate values for the following mandatory inputs:
o Destination cluster
o Destination storage virtual machine (SVM)
o Destination volume
3.
Click Execute
Now.
The mandatory and optional user inputs for the Resume SnapMirror workflow are described below.
Input |
Description |
Destination Cluster (mandatory) |
The
name of the cluster in which the destination volume of the quiesced SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship that you want to resume resides |
Destination Storage Virtual Machine Name (mandatory) |
The name of the SVM in which the destination volume of the quiesced SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship that you want to resume resides |
Destination Volume (mandatory) |
Destination volume of the quiesced SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship that you want to resume |
When completing the Resume SnapMirror workflow, WFA executes the following sequence of tasks:
1. Resume SnapMirror. WFA calls the Resume SnapMirror command to unquiesce the SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship whose destination volume was specified for this workflow and resume data transfer between the source and destination volumes.
After the Resume SnapMirror workflow is executed, future transfers are enabled for the now unquiesced SnapMirror or SnapVault relationship. Scheduled transfers are resumed at the next scheduled time. Restart checkpoints are used if possible. When a SnapMirror relationship is resumed, it remains unquiesced across reboots and fail-overs.
