The Activate the Destination SVM workflow enables you to activate the destination SVM when the source SVM is unavailable due to maintenance or in the event of a disaster. After activation, the destination SVM serves data to clients until the source is reactivated. Once the source SVM is reactivated, the destination SVM performs a data sync with the source SVM.
You must ensure that certain requirements are met before executing the Activate the Destination SVM workflow. You must be a cluster administrator for executing this workflow.
The Activate the Destination SVM workflow enables you to activate the destination SVM and serve the function of a source SVM if the source is not available due to a disaster or during maintenance.
The following illustration displays the tasks involved in the execution of the workflow:
The Activate the Destination SVM workflow enables you to select the required clusters and activate the destination SVM to serve data if a disaster occurs.
You should have the following input parameters available for executing the workflow:
You should verify that the destination SVM is activated by running the snapmirror show and vserver show commands in the destination cluster.
