Assigning Performance Service Level to multiple file shares

Goal

Use this workflow to automatically assign a specific Perfomance Service Level (PSL) to multiple file shares.

Note: This workflow can be used only if the customer's environment is set up by using the WFA SLO pack. Other customers must clone this workflow and remove the last row in the cloned workflow before using it.
In this workflow, only the Performance Service Level of the file share is modified. The file share remains in the same cluster.

2.       OnCommand Workflow Automation 4.2 General Availability (GA) or later must be installed.

User Inputs

As this workflow assigns Performance Service Level in bulk, you can provide the criteria for selecting file shares.

There are three options for file share selection, as displayed in the following image.

·         Assign performance service level (PSL) only for unassigned: On selecting this option, the recommended PSL is assigned to those file shares that do not have any PSL assigned, that is their PSL status is 'Unassigned'.

·         Fileshare exclusion from PSL assignment by regular expression: If you provide a regular expression, all the file shares whose name has this regular expression as substring are excluded from PSL assignment.

Note: This option can be used along with the first option.

·         Assign create time PSL only for unassigned: On selecting this option, the PSL which is specified during provisioning is assigned to the fileshare and the recommended PSL is ignored.

·If none of the above options is selected, then all the file shares whose assigned and recommended PSLs are different are modified, and the recommended PSL is assigned.

Result

The workflow assigns Performance Service Level to file shares in bulk.
