Move File Share to different Storage Service Level or different Storage Pool

Goal

This workflow moves the existing file share from a specific storage service level and storage pool to a new storage service level and a new storage pool using NetApp Service Level Manager (NSLM). This workflow can also move the existing file share to a new storage pool in the same storage service level.

Prerequisites

1.       You must have the minimum version of NSLM 1.0 RC3 and WFA 4.1 GA.

2.       This pack should not have any dependency on the WFA API-S pack.

3.       You must have added the following NSLM user credentials in the Credentials window:

Input parameters

Values

Match

Type

NetApp Service Level Manager

Name/IP

IP address of the NSLM server

User name

NSLM REST user name

4.       You must have added a new data source of type, NetApp Service Level Manager - 1.0.0, with REST user name and password as data source user name and password in the Data Source window.

User Inputs

You can select the file share that is to be moved from a storage service level to the targeted storage service level and storage pool.

To execute this workflow, provide the required information in the User Inputs fields:

·         File Share* [Mandatory]: From the drop-down menu, select the file share to be moved.

Note: The drop-down menu also shows the storage service level, storage VM, storage system, and storage pool.

·         Target Storage Service Level* [Mandatory]: From the drop-own menu, select the storage service level where the file share is to be moved.

Note: The drop-down menu also shows the expected input/output operations per second (IOPS)/TB, peak IOPS/TB, and peak latency.

·         Target Storage Pool* [Mandatory]: From the drop-down menu, select a storage pool where the file share is to be moved. The drop-down menu also shows the actual and allocatable IOPS and total and used capacity.

Note: If any option is selected, then NSLM decides on which storage pool the file share is to be moved.

Result

The workflow results in moving the existing file share in a specific storage service level and storage pool to a new storage service level and new storage pool or new storage pool in the same storage service level.
