The Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack will automate the tasks like creation of account, creation of volume, creation of volume access group and assigning a volume to the volume access group on SolidFire clusters in a single flow.

 

Prerequisites for executing the Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack

 

You must ensure that certain requirements are met before executing the Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack.

 

·        You must have downloaded the Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack from the Storage Automation Store.

·        You must have installed SolidFire PowerShell Toolkit in the server where WFA is installed.

·        You must have SolidFire cluster management IP Address up and running.

Using the Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack, you can perform below tasks.

1.      Create new SolidFire Account.

2.      Select an existing SolidFire Account.

3.      Create new SolidFire Volume.

4.      Create new Volume Access Group.

5.      Select an existing Volume Access Group.

 

6.      Add volume to the Volume Access Group.

Executing the Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack

 

You can execute the Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack by using WFA. The Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group workflow pack enables you to Create new volume in the SolidFire cluster and to add volume to the volume access group.

 

Pre-Requisites:

You must have reviewed the prerequisites for executing the workflow.

 

Steps:

1.    Log in to WFA by providing the necessary credentials.

        2.   Click Portal > Storage Provisioning > SolidFire Create a Volume And Add To Volume Access Group

3.      Click Execute. 

The “Execute Workflow: ‘Create a SolidFire Volume And Add To Volume Access Group” dialog box is displayed.

4.      Provide the input parameters required for execution of the selected workflow.

The input parameters are:

a.      Cluster IP

b.      Do you want to create new account

c.      Account name

d.      Account

e.      Volume name

f.       Size

g.      Minimum IOPs

h.      Maximum IOPs

i.       Burst IOPs

j.       Enable 512-bytes Emulation

k.      Select an Existing Volume Access Group Name

l.       Do you want to create a new Volume Access Group Name

m.    New Volume Access Group Name

m.    Initiator name

5.      Optional: Click Preview to validate your workflow before executing it.

6.      Click Execute.

You can also schedule the workflow for execution at a later date and time by selecting the Choose Date and Time for Execution check box.

 

 

 

Glossary

 

Pack – A workflow pack is a set of WFA workflows that is posted on the Storage Automation Store.

WFA – The NetApp storage management software that enables you to construct, customize, and use automated storage workflows for effective storage management.
