Executing the OnCommand Cloud Manager workflow pack

The OnCommand Cloud Manager workflow pack enables you to create and manage (delete, stop, or start) Cloud ONTAP instances in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Before you begin

You must have reviewed the prerequisites for executing the OnCommand Cloud Manager workflow pack.

Steps

  1. Log in to OnCommand Workflow Automation (WFA) by providing the necessary credentials.
  2. Click Portal > Cloud > <workflow name>.
    For example, click Portal > Cloud > Create Cloud ONTAP Instance.
  3. Click Execute.
    The Execute Workflow: <workflow name> dialog box is displayed.
  4. Provide the input parameters required for the execution of the selected workflow.
    The input parameters for the Create Cloud ONTAP Instance workflow are as follows:
    • OnCommand Cloud Manager Server
    • Tenant
    • Cloud ONTAP Instance Name
    • Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) admin Password
    • Re-enter Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) admin Password
    • AWS Region to deploy Cloud ONTAP
    • Virtual Private Cloud
    • Subnet
    • Security Group
    • Cloud ONTAP Version
    • License for Cloud ONTAP
    • Cloud Instance Type
    • Platform License Required
    • Platform License for BYOL (Bring Your Own License)
    • Capacity Limit in TB
    • Skip base EBS Snapshot
    The input parameters for the Start Cloud ONTAP Instance workflow are as follows:
    • OnCommand Cloud Manager Server
    • Tenant
    • Cloud ONTAP Instance Name
    The input parameters for the Stop Cloud ONTAP Instance workflow are as follows:
    • OnCommand Cloud Manager Server
    • Tenant
    • Cloud ONTAP Instance Name
    The input parameters for the Delete a Cloud ONTAP Instance are as follows:
    • OnCommand Cloud Manager Server
    • Tenant
    • Cloud ONTAP Instance Name
  5. Optional: Click Preview to validate your workflow before executing it.
  6. Click Execute.
    You can also schedule the workflow for execution at a later date and time by selecting the Choose Date and Time for Execution check box.
  7. Log in to OnCommand Cloud Manager to verify that the Cloud ONTAP instance has been created, started, stopped, or deleted.
